What is IEPF?
The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, established to manage unclaimed dividends, shares, matured deposits, and similar funds for the protection and benefit of investors.
When do the shares & dividends get transferred to IEPF?
Unclaimed dividends and related shares are transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) after remaining unclaimed for seven consecutive years, as per Section 124 of the Companies Act, 2013 and the IEPF (Accounting, Audit, Transfer, and Refund) Rules, 2016.
